The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality’s Press Office held a press conference for the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games on August 8. This highly anticipated event will grandly open on August 14, 2025, at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval, known as the “Ice Ribbon.” The competition and training venue, constructed by Liri Architecture Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., has already been the focus of attention before the Games.
Now let’s give you a detailed introduction to the world’s first professional venue for humanoid robot football matches – the “Panda Eye”, which is the competition and training base and the ROBO LAND robot camp.
This year’s Humanoid Robot Games featured three competition and training venues: the nearly 35m diameter “Panda Eye” competition and training hall, the 30m x 60m curved-roof competition and training hall, and the 25m x 40m competition and training hall. As a key component of the competition and training base, the “Panda Eye” core area brought together cutting-edge humanoid robotics experts from around the globe. Its completion also marked the official debut of a new landmark: the ROBO LAND Robot Camp, symbolizing the innovative spirit of the “Ice Ribbon” and the continuation of the Beijing Olympic legacy.
The “Panda Eye” competition and training hall, nestled in the sunken courtyard of the “Ice Ribbon” West Plaza, complements the surrounding green landscape, creating a magnificent canvas of seamless integration between technology, nature, and humanity, making the building itself resemble a living work of art. The hall features a spherical structure, with a hemispherical shape, a 12-meter-high ceiling and a diameter of nearly 35 meters. The exterior is clad in the same high-transmittance ETFE membrane as the “Water Cube.” Its prefabricated design and use of recyclable materials fully demonstrate the environmentally friendly philosophy of green development.
Inside the “Panda Eye”, you’ll find a testing and training area for the 5v5 humanoid robot soccer competition. Advanced intelligent control equipment precisely regulates temperature, humidity, and air cleanliness. Combined with professional broadcast and sports lighting, this creates an optimal operating environment for the robots.
At the ROBO LAND robotics camp, in addition to the competition and training base, Liri Architecture Technology worked with the organizing committee to create a relaxing living area for the global competitors. Nestled beside a scenic lotus pond, a variety of unique tents, including Geodesic Domes, Tree House Domes, Panorama Domes, Crossover Domes, Tipi Tents, and Stretch Tents, were cleverly utilized to create a leisure space for the team members to relax and unwind. The strong and resilient frames of these domes and tents provide a comfortable, windproof, and rainproof haven for the competitors after their competitions, regardless of weather conditions.
Liri Architecture Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., leveraging its exceptional technical expertise and innovative concepts, has created functional, eco-friendly, and iconic competition and training venues for the ROBO LAND robotics camp. These venues not only provide a solid foundation for the smooth running of the competition, but also serve as a long-term training ground for the future development of humanoid robots worldwide.
